Malin has started working out at Front Yard with Coach Simon Hunt. Malin has a background in gymnastics and skiing. She now is training for athletics and competitive sailing in a team. After some shoulder problems and injuries that have affected her for some time now, we have started to work though her shoulder blade position (scapular retraction) in functional movements. Squat, lift, push and pull. After the first two hours of movement analysis and programming she completed here first 30 workout today. I taught her medicine ball clean and jerk with 6kg. Todays workout included correct scapula position while squatting and rope pulling both horizontal and vertical. This will train her to operate in a stable position while rigging a boat on the open water. Foam rolling the upper back and yellow band seated front crucifix and row at the end for cool down.
