400 Meter Hurdle Training – Jacob at Bislett Stadium 23rd August


This is the training session for Jacob 25 yrs old from Barcelona, at Bislett stadium in Oslo. He is competing in 400m hurdles and has just started training with me

Jacob 400 Hurdles

30 mins jog and stretch (ebook)

Drills

High knee walk 3 x 30m                                                                                                             Bum flick (dynamic quad stretch) 3 x  30m                                                                             Ankle rolls 3 x 10m + transition to sprint                                                                               Heel kick 3 x 10m + transition to sprint                                                                                 High knee 3 x 10m + transition to sprint                                                                                 Full Drill 3 x 15m + transition to sprint

Straight legs small 3 x 20m                                                                                                 Straight legs 3 x 10m small + 30m fast                                                                               Straight legs 2 x 10m small + 30m fast + high tempo sprint

Long short jumps 3 x 30m each leg

Hurdle walk over 5 – 6 hurdles

3 x right leg lead                                                                                                                                 3 x left leg lead                                                                                                                                   3 x full walk over                                                                                                                             Repeat all above x 2

One stride hurdle runs

5 Hurdles 8 feet apart x 3                                                                                                               5 – 10 hurdles 8 feet apart x 3 (8.30s)                                                                                           10 Hurdles 8 – 10 feet apart x 3 (8.07s)
