I have now written a new, comprehensive E-book of over 45 pages and 150 pictures. The book demonstrates stretching for the body, with detailed descriptions of each stretch. This is an excellent health and fitness resource for individuals and trainers of all sports from golf to track & field athletes. For many years I have stretched myself as part of my own athletic training and now as a personal trainer I use this routine with my clients. I have had very effective results using these stretches with people of ALL levels of fitness.
The basis for this routine comes from my time training with UK high jump coaches Mike Dolby & Fuzz Ahmed (Alex Caan). These stretches are used by the top track & field athletes the world over to stay supple and injury free. Many different martial arts also require you to stretch and be flexible, and I have incorporated stretches I have learned form these sports too. E.g. Capoeira, taekwondo and wing chun. Stretching is really important no matter what workout you will do. You’re prone to injuries if you don’t do stretching.
Well said static body position will show the limitations of any dynamic movement the athlete will do. Make sure the body position can be achieved before you request it of an athlete in a dynamic setting. DVD coming!
